The first night of VBS was terrific as we began our worldwide jaunt with Amazing Wonders Aviation! Despite the heavy rains from Tropical Storm Debby, we were cleared for takeoff with 60 children on board. Don’t forget we have flights departing every night this week at 6pm sharp with room for plenty more passengers. Get there by 5:45 and you’ll enjoy a special pre-flight party with the praise team!

And don’t forget VBS Family Night on Friday! Children will join their teachers at 6pm for a final Bible study, then arrive back at the terminal to meet their families at 7:00 for a fun-filled hour where they can show all the music and dances they’ve learned during the week. They also find out who won this week’s Missions Challenge. Will it be the boys or the girls? What will happen to the losing team leader? Don’t miss it!

In lieu of flowers, Bigmama requested donations be made to Lighthouse.

All activities for Wed, April 18 have been cancelled.

The viewing for Bigmama (Lola Taylor) will be Wed, April 18, 6-8pm at Corey Kerlin Funeral Home at 1426 Rowe Avenue in Jacksonville. The funeral will be Thursday, April 19 at 2:30, also at the Corey Kerlin Funeral Home.

Bigmama (Lola Taylor) passed away this afternoon. Funeral arrangements are still being made, we will announce details here when they become available.

It appears that Google is playing games with the embed API for the calendar.  This afternoon it suddenly disappeared with a weird “Document Moved” message.  I have it functioning again and tracking down what’s going on.  To be fair, I am playing some games with a custom proxy to reformat the calendar on the fly, which is something they’re probably not expecting.

UPDATE: issue is fixed, totally my fault

I got an anonymous note from someone who was upset that certain people were not included on the “staff” page.  That page, like all the others on this site, are currently being developed.  I thought that was fairly obvious but apparently not.  I simply don’t know everyone who serves at the church and their job title, so I’m depending on everyone to help me flesh out that page.  I would appreciate any feedback you can give me, but it would be nice if you could put your name to what you write so I can respond and ask questions, too.
