Celebrations and Announcements
O sacred Head, now wounded,
With grief and shame weighed down;
Now scornfully surrounded
With thorns, Thine only crown;
O sacred Head, what glory,
What bliss till now was Thine!
Yet, though despised and gory,
I joy to call Thee mine.
What language shall I borrow
To thank thee, dearest Friend:
For this Thy dying sorrow,
Thy pity without end!
O make me Thine forever;
And should I fainting be,
Lord, let me never, ever
Outlive my love to Thee.
~ Bernard of Clairvaux (1090-1153)
Blessed Holy Week Dear Ladies Of Lighthouse,
What makes this week holy? T. S. Eliot called this week “the point of intersection of the timeless with time.” What happened during Holy Week was not a story to be recited with “once upon a time”…but a truth to be celebrated for all time. I invite you this Holy Week, to worship in each day, to celebrate each day. Holy Week is not just one week to celebrate some past event. Holy Week is a celebration for what IS the gospel. This week stands at the very center of God’s Story.
I will be popping in to worship with you throughout the week, but today I have several announcement.
You are invited to the EASTER EGG HUNT AT LIGHTHOUSE this Friday, April 06 at 8:00 pm. Plastic Easter Eggs filled with individually wrapped Easter Eggs are still needed and can be brought to church on Wednesday evening. If you are participating in the egg hunt, bring a flashlight for each child.
EASTER RESURRECTION CELEBRATION begins with Sunday School at 9:15 am, and Resurrection Worship at 10:30 am. Come and celebrate with us!
The LADIES OF LIGHTHOUSE April event will be a Just Horsing Around Brunch on Saturday, April 14, 9:00 am at the Florida Horse Ranch on Ford Road. Yes…”Just Horsing Around” means that it will involve horses and you! Please RSVP to ladiesoflighthouse@yahoo.com to attend or to help with food. This event is not open to children or youth for liability reasons, thank you for understanding.
Blessings,
