Prep and Pray for VBS
This Sunday night (6/24), will be devoted to VBS. I call it “prep and pray.” Typically, the Sunday before VBS is a busy day for those who serve throughout the week. This year is no different. For many, Sunday will be their only day to decorate and set up. In addition, and even more importantly, VBS is arguably the greatest outreach event our church holds each year. Because of this, we are going to do things a little differently this Sunday night.
In lieu of our typical Sunday night service, we will gather for the purpose of praying very specifically for VBS. Ms Debbie Sheldon will present a list of needs so that our efforts can be even more focused. We will encourage teachers to pray in their rooms–even over chairs if so moved. We just want to saturate our facilities with prayer and cry out to God for souls. After we pray, the preparation will resume–and those who come can stay and help!
I really believe that this is necessary, and quite frankly, I am ashamed that we have never done this before. However, this is a tremendous opportunity for our church to “fuel” the work and ministry that will take place next week. Who knows, perhaps God will give a huge increase!
