Young Adult Ministry
Purpose of the Young Adult Ministry
1 Timothy 4:12
“Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.”
Our group calls itself the “4:12 Nation.” We recognize that young adults are in a season of new beginnings. Many of our young adults are in college or pursuing new careers. Some are enjoying their new found freedom while others are considering marriage. However, nearly all of them are trying to chart a path for their life. As these young adults transition into this new phase of life, we try to provide a place to develop deep gospel community, receive sound biblical teaching and experience worship together.
Ministry Areas and Activities
Sunday Bible Study
We meet at 9:15 am each Sunday and study lessons together in a somewhat informal setting that encourages personal interaction with each other. Our material is the “Explore the Bible” series and the lessons are a great mix of Old Testament principles of God and New Testament Christianity.
Fellowship Activities
We work to schedule quarterly get together sessions that provide opportunity for fellowship with each other. Group members also informally meet with each other in an effort to build strong Christian relationships while enjoying recreational activities.
Community Outreach and Personal Development
Our group is passionate about helping others, so we look for opportunities to show and share love like Jesus did. Volunteer activities have included hosting a birthday party for kids at a domestic violence shelter, helping out with local school programs and teaching children Bible study classes. As part of personal spiritual development, our young adults enjoy group book studies and conferences that target their Millennial demographic.
